North East singer to debut charity single during show at Gala
A singer from the North East is getting ready to run her first Great North Run and is making the most of her talents to raise money for a charity close to her heart.

Anna Reay, from Whickham, has released her single ‘Sunset on the Tyne’ – dedicated to all those running the Great North Run this year and those they are running for.She will perform the song live for the first time at the Gala Theatre on Sunday, 17 September, just a week after taking part in the race.
“I’ve never done the run before and I’m not going to lie, I’m terrified, but still very excited to be part of the famous half marathon,” she said.
“I agreed to do the GNR 2017 with my lifelong friend Helen Watson whose Dad sadly passed away last year. We’re running with her two brothers Ian and David and want to raise as much money as possible for Prostate Cancer UK.
“When I agreed to do the Great North Run I felt so passionate about it. All the stories behind the reasons people are running really inspired me to write the lyrics for this new song.”
